Im going to keep this short and sweet.  The Bruins are all tied up in game 7 of the Stanley cup playoffs as they head into the third period in just a few.  Speaking of hockey, have you ever wondered how fit these guys are?  In my opinion, they are in good shape, but pale in comparison to a solid, well rounded CrossFitter! How can I get away saying that – Well pretty easy.  They are specialist, who specialize in maximizing their capacity in the Glycolytic system.  They spend short periods, between 1-2 minutes going all out, then rest.  In order to get to their full potential while in this zone, they must mimic in training exactly what they do on ice.  You wont see them running marathons, as this will have no effect on their efforts to elicit high power output during their 1-2 minute shifts.  This is where we differ.  CrossFit doesn’t specialize.  We specialize at not specializing, therefore, we want to go in and out of all three zones (metabolic pathways) to ensure and optimal increase in work capacity across a broad period of time.   This guarantees us that no matter how long the task is at hand, we will be ready to roll!  Ok, more on this subject later.  Now back to the game.
