Roughly, how long have you been CrossFitting for? Since Spring 2019

What was the driving force behind your decision to start? Oh, man! My 3rd baby was about to turn a year old and while the scale told me I was back to “pre-baby,” I knew my strength wasn’t where it could/should be. The treadmill at Healthtrax just wasn’t doing it for me. It was time for drastic measures!

What is/are your favorite movement(s) to perform? Squat off box, bench press, push ups

If you could have any super powers, what would it allow you to do? Never be tired! Also the ability to stop the aging process wouldn’t suck.

What sort of changes to your body, health, and fitness have you seen since starting CrossFit? It’s been pretty wild…it’s changed me in so many positive ways! My body is a lot stronger and my mobility has markedly increased. I think the mental component is so important, too. I feel confident in my ability to take on new things and the workouts really help to clear my mind. Can’t get enough of those endorphins!

Did you ever have any misconceptions before starting CrossFit that you now disagree with? Oh yeah, I thought it was all super athletes wearing neon, talking about how much they lift (not that there’s anything wrong with that, I just don’t fit in that particular demographic). Now I know it’s about challenging yourself to REALLY make your own health and wellness a top priority.

Any advice to new members getting started? GET STARTED! Just get started, no matter what your age, skill level or limitations might be. The CFM coaching team is unbelievably knowledgeable and dedicated…there’s no better place to be. You will not regret it!

What are you up to when you’re not at CFM? Spending time with my husband, Pete, and our 3 little ones. Working as a Senior Director of Brand Strategy for a London-based risk management firm or trying to get some sleep!
