1. How young are you? 52

2. Where were you born and where did you grow up? Born in Weymouth and grew up in Hingham.

3. If you could have any super powers, what would it allow you to do? Create a cure for cancer.

4. What is/are your favorite movement(s) to perform? I guess it would be the one I hate the most, the Thruster.

5. If you won a million dollars, what’s your first purchase? If paying the IRS doesn’t count, it would be a house closer to the ocean.

6. What sort of changes to your body, health & fitness have you seen since starting CrossFit?  Biggest difference for me has been my lower back. Many years of sitting at a desk, and two plus hours a day commuting have taken a toll on my flexibility etc.. In addition to helping my overall strength and stamina, my back strength is much greater than the past. Another would be strength in my legs when running. Hills are much easier than before joining and I notice it when running local road races.

7. Now that you’ve been CrossFitting for some time, are there any misconceptions you may have initially had coming into CrossFit that you now disagree with? 1. I am too old for it. 2. Injuries. Yes they can happen, however, I know my limits and having qualified coaches make a huge difference. In my opinion, if I exercised on my own I am convinced I would have had an injury that would have likely led me to stop working out.

8. Any advice to new members getting started? Set goals and you’re not there to impress anyone but yourself. Ask questions of your coaches and your fellow members. We are all there to see you succeed.

9. What are you up to when you’re not at CFM? I love being on the ocean. Whether it is commuting to work in Boston, or on my boat with the family, I am fascinated by being on the water.

10. Tell us something most people do not know about you? I have a wife of 30 years (this year) and two children that I am very proud of. One just graduated from college and works for a PR firm in NYC, and another wrapping up his first successful year at Merrimack College. Not to mention our two dogs, Petey and Scrappy!
