How did you first get exposed to CrossFit?  Take us back to your first WOD…What was it and how did it feel?  I started Powerlifting the summer I got finished with rowing, and went to a CrossFit gym.  I was interested to try some of the workouts that they were doing beyond powerlifting.  I don’t remember what my first WOD was, but the aftermath of it was quite similar to what I had felt after a hard rowing work out.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit? (before/after) Since starting CrossFit I have felt happier in all aspects of my life.  After gaining inevitable weight upon the completion of rowing, it has reminded me what it is like to feel like an athlete again.

What sort of changes in your life have you experienced out of taking on something like CrossFit that were totally unexpected?  CrossFit has allowed me to realize that just because I have graduated from collegiate athletics doesn’t mean I am done competing and growing as an athlete.  CrossFit has provided me with the team/family-like atmosphere that can connect me to people all across the world.  I feel really lucky to be able to rely on a community that is always supportive and encouraging.

Please share with us any favorite CrossFit/CFM moments.  Anytime I watch someone achieve a movement that they thought they could never do or attain a personal best.

Any advice for people just getting started?  Be patient with yourself.  If you put the work in you will be able to master the movements.  Just focus on one work out at a time, and come in every day striving to be just 1% better than you were the day before, and you will see huge results.

What are your hobbies, interests, and/or talents outside of CrossFit?  Reading, hiking, cooking, traveling.
