Every living organism goes through cycles of sleep and activity. The average human sleeps about 6-8 hours a night (or at least they should….hint hint). In our society we tend to only look at sleep as a necessary resting phase for our biology.

But in fact, there is much more going on when we close our eyes. The deeper significance of sleeping and dreaming is so critical to our health. Sleeping gives our brain necessary time to process short and long-term memories as well as regulate our hormones (which are driving force for everything in our body from metabolic function to mood)
In the same way we stretch our hips before squatting and fire up our shoulders for pullups, there are ways we can prep our body’s for the evening slumber.
