Are you considering joining a CrossFit community but feeling hesitant? You’re not alone!

Many people face common barriers when starting their CrossFit journey. Let’s dive into these obstacles and explore simple ways we will help you overcome them at CrossFit Magnitude.

Intimidation Factor:

Barrier: The perceived intensity and competitive atmosphere of a CrossFit gym can be intimidating for newcomers.

Overcoming it: CrossFit Magnitude is anything but intimidating. Our members currently range from 13-72, and the only competitiveness we encourage is with oneself.  We like to start everyone off slowly, focusing on learning proper form first, always.   Remember, everyone starts somewhere, and we think this is a perfect place for you to do so!

Lack of Fitness Foundation:

Barrier: CrossFit involves diverse movements that may be challenging for those without a solid fitness base.

Overcoming it: At CrossFit Magnitude, we are masters of modification. Every class you take an expert coach will be by your side. They can provide modified exercises, ensuring you build strength progressively and safely. Embrace the learning curve; everyone improves over time.

Fear of Injury:

Barrier: The dynamic nature of CrossFit can raise concerns about the risk of injury.

Overcoming it: Prioritize form over intensity. Listen to your body, communicate with coaches about any discomfort, and we will help you modify your workouts accordingly. Safe progression is key.

Financial Considerations:

Barrier: CrossFit memberships are often perceived as pricey.

Overcoming it: Consider it an investment in your health. Our group class offerings are extremely competitive, and we will never ask you to sign a contract. Remember, when you have skin in the game, and a community to help keep you accountable, you will quickly note that the price is well worth it!

Negative Preconceptions:

Barrier: Prejudices or stereotypes about CrossFit.

Overcoming it: Attend a class, talk to members, and experience it firsthand. CrossFit Magnitudes community is diverse, supportive, and welcoming. You might be surprised!

Breaking down these barriers is the first step to a rewarding CrossFit experience. Remember, it’s about progress, not perfection. Embrace the challenges, celebrate your victories, and enjoy the journey to a healthier, stronger you!
